Rare, fine and original Dorochk (Meched and khorassan region) around 1880. Quality silky wool velvet on cotton foundation. Nice state of conservation. Good general condition. Slight oxidation at the edge. Stain on the back. Ivory field with very large central floral medallion polylobed midnight blue and ruby in the form of stylized diamond surrounded by botehs (symbol of genesis and fertility, seed motif found in cashmere shawls) in symmetry. Four original spandrels with cups of compositions of botehs finely drawn polychrome. Six borders of which the main one is ruby decorated reminiscent of the spandrels.
