Very fine and original Marasali (Caucasus) late nineteenth century, circa 1870/1880. Wool velvet on wool foundation. Small accident on the border. Beautiful state of conservation. Beautiful polychromy. Remarkable freshness of colors. Midnight blue field with botehs (symbol of genesis and fertility, motif of the seed found in cashmere shawls) in the form of geometrically stylized bird beaks in polychrome. Five borders, the main one ivory decorated with stylized multicolored parrots.
