Very fine Senneh (Northwest Persia) late 19th century. Wool velvet on cotton foundation. Density of about 10 000 knots per dm2. Good general condition. Edges to be sewn. Beautiful polychromy. Midnight blue field with Herati motifs, decorated with two hexagonal medallions entangled ivory and midnight blue Herati motifs. Eight borders of which the main one is brick with palmettes and stylized floral bulbs geometrically polychromed.
