Fine and original Ferahan Moustafie (Persia) late nineteenth century. Silky lambswool velvet of quality on cotton grounds. Slight natural oxidation. Good condition. Decorated with a large central medallion cruciform ivory stylized characters surrounding a second medallion ruby surrounded by flowering palmettes in the form of fans. Four midnight blue spandrels with Herati motifs. Five borders, the main one brick with floral bulbs in the form of turtle shells geometrically stylized in polychrome.
