White jade (nephrite) MASHRAB JUG, the circular bulbous body on a small heel, with a high cylindrical neck and S-shaped handle in the form of a dragon, engraved with inscriptions in Arabic thuluth calligraphy in relief on the neck. Timurid style (1378 - 1506) from Samarkand.
Height : 16,5 cm - Width : 18 cm (Excellent condition)
The dragon on the handle was a recurrent motif in Timurid art and reveals the influence of Chinese art.
