L.A.S. "Richard Wagner", Paris May 7, 1860, to Agnes
STREET-KLINDWORTH in Brussels| 2 pages in-8| in German.
[Agnes STREET-KLINDWORTH (1825-1906), friend and pupil of Liszt, had welcomed Wagner in Brussels, at her father's house, the diplomat Georg Klindworth, who had come to give concerts there in March 1860]
He thanks her, but will not be able to come back to see her soon. He is retained in Paris, and in crisis from day to day: "Von Tag zu Tag bin ich in Krisis"... Agnes' cousin came from London to visit Wagner in Paris, and played his arrangements of the Nibelungen with the greatest virtuosity: "Er spielt mir mit höchster
Virtuosität seine Arrangements meiner Nibelungen vor"... He invites Agnes to hurry to Paris for a few days, with Papa if possible ....
