He had previously authorized them "to give the Opera fragments of Henry VIII with a ballet, with the proviso that it be clearly indicated that this is a fragmentary performance and not a new form of the work, as has been done, moreover, for illustrious works that the Opera has used in the same way. [...] I maintain my authorization with the same reservations"...
