"He asked me if you had, on behalf of the Society of Authors and Composers, the certainty that the fact of signing the libretto of the work would not constitute an obstacle to its performance. [Durand asks me what title we wish to give Padmâvatî: opera or opera-ballet.
It seems to me that the number of dances, pantomimes, challenges, processions, sufficiently justifies the title of opera-ballet| what do you think?
