Malraux's thanks for the journalist's laudatory article on the rerun of his film L'Espoir, which had been banned when it was released in 1939. After so many years, here is the most friendly article on "Hope". I would like to thank you for this, because after all, praise is not something to be discussed. For the Russians, I agree, but one thing struck me: it is the films of the beginning that are of the same barrel, not those of now (...). For poetry, of course you are right. The images that you quote (...) are the ones I cared about, the ones that, in my eyes, gave the accents. And it is curious that you are the only one to have isolated them. When I came back from the front, I didn't really know what the film I hadn't seen for five years would look like (...). Thank you also for naming the buddies. Your article must have been effective, because the receipts were soaring the first week, then dropped terribly the second week to soar the third. Yesterday, Monday, a full house (...).
