He protests against an article of Arsène O'MAHONY in Le Drapeau blanc attacking Eugène de GENOUDE: "It would not be allowed to immolate in this way to the public laughter a man who can have faults, but who also has a reputation, which is his property, and which one does not have the right to take away from him [? Frankly, it is satyrdom. He is very distressed by this, and thinks of selling his share of the newspaper, not wanting "to share the guarantee of all that can be inserted [...] One does not cease to bother me about this unhappy newspaper| and I have, in truth, enough of my work, without exposing myself again to all these tug-of-wars which tire and even irritate"...
