"I am currently finishing my cupola (in the studio of M. Charles STERN) and I intend to leave soon, being really very tired of having carried out in two months these 36 square meters of painted canvas in which there are about 30 figures" [this refers to the panels of the Florentine Evening, three of which are kept in the Petit Palais], which he proposes to show to his correspondent.
He complains that he no longer receives anything from the Société de reproduction des dessins de maîtres, although he has paid his subscription...
