Long letter in favor of his native city of Como.
His colleague Count Senator Giovanni PARADISI (1760-1826) is charged with a mission by the Senate, but also with various letters and recommendations from his friends. The Viceroy gave his agreement to this request, and Volta begs to be granted this favor to his homeland. There follow various requests in favor of some of his fellow citizens of Como, among which the ex-count Modesta Porro, man of spirit and science, and the ex-count Giambatista Giovio, stemming from a family of illustrious literati, himself a fine scholar, the jurist Ignazio Martignoni, for whom he asks for a decoration (Legion of Honor or Iron Crown), whose lustre would reflect on his dear fatherland....
