He is not surprised by the news and the letter of his friend, for he knows that his talent is boundless. But he also knows that he has a highly developed fantasy and he knows his gift for exaggerated interpretations.
He asks him to tell him in a few words what in his exploits is pure reality and what is the fulfillment of his dreams... "Ich würde durch die Nachrichten Deines Briefes gar nicht überrascht sein, traue ich doch Deinem Talent alles Mögliche zu. Aber ich kenne auch die Übermacht Deiner Phantasie u. Deine glänzende Darstellungsgabe.
