After the huge success of the affordable and easy-to-handle Sportster and a first real redesign in 2004 (not to mention the introduction of fuel injection the following year), Harley-Davidson added a new Sportster 1200 called the Nightster to the range. Introduced in 2007, this modern-day Harley stands out with its truncated rear fender, single seat, spoked rims, twin shocks and vintage-inspired «drop tank». Handy, elegant, sporty (with its 57 hp engine), this bike suffers from only one flaw: the autonomy of its 12.5 l tank! The Sportsters bowed out in 2021, although they had been in the catalogue since 1957, while the Nightster remained in production for only five years, until 2012. This 2012 Nightster was bought second hand by Mr B’s wife in 2014. This beautiful Harley has benefited from regular maintenance, and has been ridden very little, since it had 10,000 km in 2016, and its odometer showed 12,800 km on the day of our test. This is a great opportunity to get into the Harley myth with an easy and reliable bike.
