He will pick up his copy [from the bookseller Bailly] on his next trip to Paris. "Thank you my dear friend for thinking of me but how I regret that you cannot come. I hope, however, that in the autumn it will be possible for you. By then I will have been able to go and apologize to the Manets, as I have not been able to visit them until now, I have been promising them for so long. But I have a lot to do with the quantities of paintings sold that I have to finish. And I must confess that I find it very difficult to leave Giverny, especially now that I have arranged the house and the garden to my liking"...
