In this letter addressed to a Swiss friend is inserted an autograph poem signed entitled Toast.
"But you had spoken French to me
I like you all the better
That you are an old Frenchman
Since you are a Genevan, and I know
That in these places I had a success"

I fi gure there in the company of Rimbaud, Valade and
Hervilly....If this gentleman [the fi ls] still exists, if he is still in possession of the painting, if not, who is the current purchaser of this painting?"
