Autograph poem, to Armand SILVESTRE, [1890]| 3/4 page in-8 (on administrative paper).
Sonnet in honor of the poet Armand Silvestre (1837-1901), collected in Dédicaces (parts xxvii of the 1890 edition and xvii of the 1894 edition).
This manuscript has a variant in the 9th line: "The great Sand carried on the baptismal font / Your robust and healthy muse, and, good fairy /
You predicted the genius and the work of an Orpheus / Charming man and woman and even animals..."
At the bottom of the page, Verlaine added 4 lines in pencil for the publisher
Léon Deschamps: "Have you received, have you not? yesterday, these 2 sonnets that I am sending back to you as an extra precaution - and the preface? Have you received it too, no doubt? Delete the sonnet to Darzens."
