MERMOZ JEAN (1901-1936)
Partly autographed Easter postcard, signed [for Vova de MARTINOFF], Oran, March 27, 1931| 14 x 9 cm.
Amusing card made on the eve of the world closed circuit distance record. On a card drawn and coloured for Easter representing a young girl kneeling in front of an open egg from which a Vova love comes out,
Mermoz has drawn in blue ink a monument to H. Potez, surmounted by the potez f-alam plane bought by Mermoz and Martinoff, and inscribed in the egg : " the mutual admiration union ", and all around : " Record of distance in straight line Toulouse-Paris 4h50 ". On the back, in imitation of a diploma, under the title: "Special meeting of March 27, 1931", and with a drawn stamp, he had his wife Gilberte
Mermoz sign as President, Jacques de Saint-pierre (builder of the Bernard 80 GR plane which was to be used for the record flight) as member, Jumeau as Secretary General, and himself signed as "another member".
