Porcelain bowl decorated in blue underglaze with a calligraphic poem in a central cartouche, surrounded by motifs of "suastika" ("which brings luck") and signs of longevity around the perimeter, with the motif of the shell of a turtle.

Mark on the reverse "Chenghua".

Old label on the reverse "Translated from Chinese" for the poem: "Since the beginning of the world

Great families are but the fruits of beneficence.
