Collection Jean-Marie Toulgouat, Paris
Private collection, France (by descent) "Consisting of several hundred paintings, far from being all located yet, the painted work of Blanche Hoschedé-Monet is fully in line with the impressionist tradition.
It is that of a colourist and refined artist who knows perfectly well how to combine the art of composition and atmospheric rendering.
Blanche Hoschedé-Monet is not afraid to invade the iconic field, either by filling it to the brim or by layering it in depth, just as she does not hesitate to structure it in cut sections, superimposed layers or contradictory lines of force. She also knows how to absorb the horizon line in the misty diffusion of light, just as she knows how to draw or define a shape to better highlight its silhouette. With her gesture as close to the canvas as possible,
Blanche uses a rather short brushstroke that has not changed much over the years, sometimes curled, sometimes punctuated, always held. If her palette presents all the ranges of the spectrum with a predilection for purplish blues and dense greens, she very rarely uses raw colours, preferring softened and measured tones, able to render the harmonious and positive vision she has of the world. A luminous vision that echoes an inner life that is entirely animated by painting.
