This last fact undoubtedly explains the independence that the painter was able to maintain. Certainly, there are comparisons to be made with Renoir, Matisse and Bonnard| however, it is undeniable that a highly personal accent animates Camoin's production. His oil paintings are generally characterized by a beautiful freedom of writing and rich harmonies of color.
