In 1962, the R8 is the new popular sedan of the Renault company. Its more modern style and its four disc brakes make it an interesting alternative to the Peugeot 204 and 304. The success is with the appointment, several declensions will appear with in particular the sporting Gordini which will mark its time. Its production will stop in France in 1973.
The car we are presenting is a type R1130 put on the road on January 24th 1964. The bodywork is painted in Ural grey, which was redone many years ago. The interior is not very well preserved and the upholstery is partly damaged. There are some perforating corrosion marks on the body and on the chassis. Mechanically, this R8 is equipped with a 689-01 engine that needs to be restarted. In the engine compartment, there are labels proving its maintenance from 1987 to 2009. This car is to be considered today as a restoration base or as a parts bank to be used for another project.
