In 1950, the Renault company presents the car that will be one of the last competitors of the Citroën Traction: the Frégate. Equipped with a four-cylinder engine at the front, this saloon quickly established itself as a luxury reference and innovated against the styles of its competitors. Its production will stop in 1960 with more than 180,000 units manufactured.

Our example was launched on February 6, 1956. The bodywork has a black paint job that was redone several years ago. The original interior is not very well preserved, but we can notice the presence of the original car radio. The body and chassis show some perforating corrosion marks. From a mechanical point of view, the engine has been rebuilt a few years ago, but it will have to be restarted. This car is today an interesting base for restoration.
