In 1955, the Sochaux-based company presents the replacement of the 203 : the 403. This popular model will be available in different versions: saloon, estate, cabriolet, van and covered van. Its production will stop in 1966 after more than 1 200 000 units were manufactured.
The 403 we are presenting is an interesting station wagon version that was launched on December 2, 1957. Its former owner would have said that it was a Gendarmerie car. Today, it has a cream-colored paint that was redone many years ago. The interior is still in its original state, and one can notice a surprising boss on the rear trunk which increases the volume of the boot. The body and chassis show some perforating corrosion marks in some places. From a mechanical point of view, the engine needs to be restarted, but it is not blocked. This car with its original history is an interesting basis for restoration.
