In 1955, the Sochaux-based company presents the replacement of the 203 : the 403. This popular model will be available in different versions: saloon, estate, cabriolet, van and covered van. Its production will stop in 1966 after more than 1 200 000 units were manufactured.
The 403 sedan we are presenting was put on the road on 23 January 1957. Originally dark green, its body was repainted a few years ago in a lighter shade. In the cabin, the cloth upholstery is probably original and covered with skai covers. There are some perforating traces of corrosion on the body and the chassis. From a mechanical point of view, the engine starts and the car runs, but a general overhaul will be necessary. This is an interesting restoration project for a beautiful French popular car.
