He read his letter with emotion. "There should be no doubt about it: our God makes use of everything, of the most vile instruments, of the most defiled hearts.
And that is why, what must dominate in us is trust. ... for the man I am, so full of responsibility, and whose work, as it were, doubles the evil life, gives him a terrible power of virulence, trust becomes madness: but one must be mad". Thus the reading of Destinations decided the vocation of a young Syrian
: "the worst of my books, written in a time when I was only a poor heart devoured by desire, a dead soul. ...] It is up to Jesus to make a bad book become good for such and such a soul. Yes, I am incredibly loved by Him - as we all are...".
