Send the manuscript of his Epistles to his publisher.
"Here is Monsieur 424 verses in all instead of the 300 promised. I wanted to count the quality not the number by sending a hundred more than agreed". He asks him to give M. de Genoude the 1000 francs agreed upon, and indicates corrections: "There are only two verses to be changed in the Epistle to Lavigne. In the 2nd volume of Meditations there are only a few typographical errors, like horses instead of goats, in the last part of the Preludes, and to remove the last stanza from the one entitled I believe the Past"...
He adds that "the verses are sent by the stagecoach of Mâcon to
M. de Genoude" .
