Straw marquetry composition, showing Napoleon in the uniform of the Chasseurs à cheval de la Garde in front of a view evocative of the important elements of the Emperor's life during his exile. It shows the Northumberland setting sail in the distance, the lighthouse of the island, Longwood House and three faithful in uniforms in front of the Emperor's tomb in the shadow of the famous weeping sole. The work is enhanced with print pieces to give a quality face to the Emperor, but also for the texts. One can read "Napoleon", "drawing after... 1819", and the signature "Fait par Richiome, juillet 1835". Piece presented under glass in a straw marquetry frame.First half of the 19th century
