RAVEL Maurice (1875-1937)

L.A.S. "Maurice Ravel", Le Belvédère, Montfort l'Amaury 27 June 1922, to his friend Marie GAUDIN in SaintJean-de-Luz| 1 page in-8 with his monogram and address, address on the back.

"You cannot imagine, my dear Marie, how annoyed I was to have missed your visit that I had been waiting for so long| and how I trembled listening to the skillfully graduated account of Marie-Thérèse, until I finally knew that the stern guardian of the Belvedere had not thrown you out and had prepared a modest meal for you. Why didn't you warn me sooner? I was expecting you all the less since Madame Bonnet had told me about your farewell visit: I was going to write to yell at you. Poor little Annie, who took solace in eating sour gooseberries! You know I didn't get back until Friday. And I'm leaving for London tomorrow.
