MANUSCRIT MUSICAL autograph signed " F. Liszt ", An die Künstler | 1 page large in-8 (19 x 12 cm), framed with an engraved portrait of Liszt (a few light stains, glue marks and pale wet spots).
An die Künstler (To the Artists) [S. 70], a chorus for male voices based on a poem by Friedrich SCHILLER, was composed in 1853, and premiered under the direction of the composer at the Karlsruhe Festival on October 3, 1853| a new revised version was given in Weimar on September 5, 1857 for the inauguration of the monument to Goethe and Schiller.
We have here the first 12 bars, notated in black ink on 5 systems of 2 staves, with the words: "Der Menschheit Würde ist in eure Hand gegeben Bewahret sie Bewahret sie", and the indication Maestoso, in B, at 3/4.
