Aria from the opera Le Roi d'Ys.
The opera Le Roi d'Ys, " Légende bretonne du Ve siècle en 3 actes et 5 tableaux " as it is written on our title page, on a libretto by Édouard Blau, was premiered at the OpéraComique on May 7, 1888 under the direction of Jules Danbé, with Simonnet, Deschamps, and tenor Talazac in the role of Mylio.

Air de Mylio (n° 8 of the opera): "On the altar of Saint Corentin... Yes, I can feel it, I can attest to it "... (Act II, scene 1), in an aria arrangement for voice and piano, in a different version of the opera. In B minor, at 3/4, it is indicated Andante non troppo then Allegro. It counts 78 bars.

The manuscript, very carefully noted in black ink on 28-line Lard-Esnault paper, was used for engraving and editing by G. Hartmann.
