The things I need most are being taken away from me here, or sent to me, or sent money for me to get them| I have just been assured that I will not be provided with anything that you have not sent money for, so please send some. If you're short of funds, here's a warrant. Also send me a piece of stomach and some cotton stockings that I absolutely cannot do without. I'm sending you a second list as well. Fill in at least the items I can't get here, such as my stomach piece &c and send money for the rest [...]".
