"... It is an atrocity for example to have for such a trick to me who has not left Paris since the Revolution and who since that time has not ceased to give the least equivocal proof of my patriotism ......] Put yourself in trade, give this object directly to Mr. Gauffredi, it is shorter and less expensive, acknowledge me the receipt of the certificate and keep your letters for the big events afterwards, even not to take it in hand, so I beg you [...]".
