1963 Panhard 24 CT
Staggering design
Easy project
One of the first 24
French registration
Chassis N°: 2300478
Vehicle sold as is, without technical inspection
and may require a restart costs
Clearly sportier than the Panhard PL 17, the 24 was aimed at a completely different market. Its official launch in the summer of 1963 could have been an event almost comparable to that of the DS. Automobile journalists of the time would not be mistaken in presenting this car as having a bright future. This small coupé with a very avant-garde design is aimed at a modern and dynamic clientele devouring consumerism. The intelligence of its design we owe it to Louis Bionier who already had a career of more than 40 years with Panhard when he created the 24. Three versions will be available, the CT, the B and the BT with an extended wheelbase to comfortably accommodate 4 people. From 1963 to 1967 only 26,962 units were sold. The 24 CT presented here is a 1964 model first put into circulation on 23 December 1963. It is red in colour and has a white vinyl interior. The current owner has owned it since 2012. The general condition is very good, the whole thing having surely been repainted a few years ago. The engine is a standard exchange according to its plate. N° MS 002852. An easy restart will allow to put this very nice example of 24 CT back on the way to the pleasure drive.
