In-4, brown morocco, lacquer signed by Schmied embedded in the first plate, mosaic title on two horizontal bands in silver and gold morocco after Schmied's model, smooth mute spine, lining and endpapers in glazed brown morocco, gilt edges, cover preserved. Shirt and case (Devauchelle).
First separate edition after a publication in the collection Les Vivants et les Morts in 1913. Limited edition of 125 numbered nominative copies on Japan, this one n° 92 for F. Neves. 82 woods on the cover and 7 full page and 39 large figures in colors in the text.
The original model of the first plate of the binding (gouache and pastel on brown paper) and the assembly of the 5 execution layers of the title (lead pencil and red ink), with handwritten mention of the hand of the bookbinder Devauchelle, are enclosed. These two pieces are bound at the end of the volume.
