(Misses, small chips and some restorations to the base) A "Flower bearers" centerpiece, c. 1870, polychrome enamelled majolica, decorated with two mermaids supporting a large shell of seaweed. HISTORY: This model, very rare in this format, was shown at several important international exhibitions in the late 19th century, notably in Vienna in 1873 and Philadelphia in 1876.
