Omega is a Swiss watchmaking manufacture founded in 1848, now based in Biel, Switzerland. Due to its heritage, longevity, and visibility, Omega is a key brand in the Swiss watchmaking industry. In 1957, Omega launched three iconic models: the Omega Seamaster, Omega Railmaster, and Omega Speedmaster. These are the brand’s most popular models. The Omega Speedmaster is famously known as the first watch to go to the moon during the Apollo 11 mission on July 21, 1969. The Omega Speedmaster has been in continuous production since 1957 and has been released in numerous references and variations, making it highly sought after by collectors and often achieving strong auction results.
