The Numismatics Department organizes prestigious auctions dedicated to this specialty. These sales feature collections of gold, silver, and various other coins from ancient, medieval, early modern, and modern periods, including gold investment coins listed on the stock exchange. Practiced since Antiquity, numismatics is the study of medals and coins. Collectors acquire a wide range of coins, from Ancient Greece to the present day. This field allows us to discover Roman emperors, Greek gods, feudal lords, and kings alike.

The period, origin, rarity, and condition of these coins or medals determine their market value. Our team organizes two auctions per year and is available by appointment for appraisals, expert evaluations, or advice. We only appraise ancient coins or gold coins. For these, we will inform you of their market value and offer to place them in competition among collectors and investors to secure the best possible price.

You can also submit your request in advance of an appointment, including a description, photographs, and any available documentation about the item—either through the online valuation request form or directly by email to our specialist.

Please note: Coins that are still in legal circulation cannot be sold at auction; for example, we do not appraise euros. The sale of certain coins is subject to specific taxation. The Aguttes auction house will guide you to ensure your sale complies with all applicable regulations and will advise you on this matter.
