Trabert & Hoeffer Mauboussin is a double provenance that has become rare, a symbol of New York and the interwar period.

In New York in 1924, Mauboussin was awarded a grand prize at the French Exhibition. This American accolade led to the opening of their first boutique on Park Avenue, followed by a branch in Florida and a second boutique in New York, but the Depression of 1929 brought this rapid expansion to a halt. In March 1936, the New York Times announced the "merger" of Mauboussin with the American jeweller Trabert & Hoeffer, jeweller to the stars. His loyal customers included Ingrid Bergman, Paulette Godard and Audrey Hepburn, and he was already well known.

Vogue magazine unveiled the first Trabert & Hoeffer - Mauboussin Inc advertising campaign during the summer and the successful "Reflection" concept to adapt to the means and preferences of their clientele. Adaptable and creative, Trabert & Hoeffer - Mauboussin then said of this collection that it was "the ideal means of expressing one's own personality in a piece of jewellery [...] our current collection is the largest in our history in a variety that will appeal to all tastes". This collaboration lasted until 1953.

A bracelet, also from this reflection collection, made in emeralds and diamonds for the actress Paulette Goddard is reproduced in the book "Mauboussin" Editions du Regard, 1992, p.141. It was given to her by Charlie Chaplin to make up for the disappointment of not being cast as the lead in the film "Gone with the Wind".
