As a sneak preview of the forthcoming sale of fine wines and spirits on 29 June, we are delighted to present you with two bottles from a renowned Burgundy estate: Domaine Georges Roumier.

The mere mention of this name is usually enough to arouse the enthusiasm of insiders, for whom the 12 hectares farmed since the early 1980s by Christophe Roumier (Georges' grandson) is one of the world's benchmarks for the Chambolle-Musigny, Bonnes-Mares and Corton-Charlemagne appellations. Three legendary terroirs for three grands crus that the estate has been sublimating through its know-how and virtuous vine-growing methods for decades.

Bonnes-Mares is perhaps the most emblematic because it is one of the oldest jewels in the crown of Domaine Roumier.  Situated on the border between the communes of Morey-Saint-Denis and Chambolle-Musigny, close to the no less famous Clos de Tart, this Côte de Nuits grand cru is said to have taken its name, since the High Middle Ages, from the old word "marer" meaning to cultivate with care. This Bonnes-Mares is aged with 40% new oak and bottled unfiltered.  The least we can say is that Christophe Roumier, like his father before him, maintains this etymology through the quality of his work and his mastery of the complexity of this terroir, to give its exceptional concentration to this wine without equal in Burgundy.
Long ageing will bring out the fullness of its aromas of black fruits, sweet spices with a hint of pepper, and peony.

We are offering you the chance to buy two magnums (!) of this nectar, one from the 2008 vintage and the other from 2010.
