La Revue
THE ROLEX SARU, AN EXCLUSIVE MODEL

Founded by Hans Wilsdorf in 1905 in London, the Swiss watchmaker Rolex has gradually established itself in the world of luxury and in the art market as the leading international watch brand.

In this regard, the company has developed numerous iconic models over the 20th century, such as the Oyster watch, created in 1926, and the Rolex GMT Master, designed in 1954 to equip Pan Am pilots. The GMT Master II SARU watch derives its name from the combination of Sapphire and Ruby used for the bezel. This uniqueness explains its high value and the interest it generates among collectors. The use of these precious stones, the quality of the setting, and a unique watchmaking expertise make this watch an exclusive model, not appearing in official catalogs and only produced upon customer request.

The exclusive nature of certain models and the use of advanced technologies explain Rolex's strong valuation in the current market, as evidenced by the recent auction of a Rolex Comex sold for €120,000 on November 9, 2021, by the Aguttes auction house.
