THE AUTUMN SALE l December 12th, 2021
Exhibition : D-7 !

Only one week to go before opening up the exhibition of the much-awaited Autumn Sale! We are indeed delighted at the idea of welcoming you from noon, Friday, December 10th, at the Espace Charenton (327 rue de Charenton - 75012 Paris) to make you discover our selection of 94 cars.

Among them, you will notice the 33 cars from the Anna Lisa collection, which have remained hidden, out of sight, for over thirty years. And if the Zagato quartet, the Alfa Romeo 2500 S Freccia d'Oro, the Maserati 3500 GT or the Lagonda 2 Litre are particularly touching, you will also be seduced by other lots, very different, but with incredible stories. This is the case for the crazy Mercedes 190 2.5-16 Evo II used daily by its owner for more than twenty years to drive from Geneva to Paris and back, of the remains of an authentic and sought-after Amilcar CGSS cyclecar or of a Peugeot 504 Familiale in incredible condition... Each car tells a story, each unique in their own way: we have nearly a hundred stories to tell you, take the time to come and meet us.

The favorites of the team

A wish list for Santa …

Being “big“ kids, we still believe in Santa Claus. And no, don't laugh, we have all thought of asking Santa for gifts this year while leafing through our fall sale catalog, the result of several months of hard work and a great deal of trust from our clients. The rule is simple: choose a "favorite" car, regardless of its price and condition, and explain the reasons for it.

Clothilde, administrator
"Amongst Turinese designers, the little-known Balbo was a precursor! The Fiat 1500 Cabriolet from the Anna Lisa collection is a good example. The lines of this convertible are worthy of a 1940s cartoon, mixing American style with Italian flair. And the 1,500 cc 6-cylinder engine is particularly interesting..."

Augustin, administrator
"Despite its quiet, popular sedan look, the Alfa Romeo Giulia 1600 TI Super is a real race car that hides its game well! It benefits from many interesting details, and its lighter body combined with a restoration/preparation by Rotondi makes it an ideal car to drive in historical competitions, especially in the Tour Auto, where a similar model was famous in 1963 in the hands of the driver Fernand Masoero."

Raphaël de Serres, consultant
"The Alfa Romeo 3000 SZ from the Anna Lisa collection, Il Mostro as it was called at the time, is a particularly interesting car from a historical and technical perspective. It is a monument in the modern history of the iconic Italian coachbuilder, which also combines the best of Alfa technology of the time: composite bodywork, 75 Turbo Evoluzione Gr. A platform and Busso V6 revised by AutoDelta! An authentic must-have, only 1,036 examples were produced. Our example, with a total of 3,086 km, is an urgent collector's item!"

Paul-Émile, specialist
"This BMW 323i, restored at great expense, is certainly the most beautiful on the market... In addition to the fact that it has very few kilometers and that its history is clear from day one, it is a mythical model, with its 143 hp 6-cylinder engine and its grille with four yellow headlights, a French specificity. It also benefits from the sunroof, the 5-speed gearbox and optional 13-inch BBS wheels. The perfect configuration for a demanding amateur!"

Hugo, specialist
"The Delahaye we offer for sale is exceptional as it is a 138, which prefigures the mythical 135, and a W model, equipped with a Wilson gearbox, whereas all other Delahayes are with a mechanical or electromagnetic Cotal gearbox. With its cabriolet bodywork designed by Chapron, this car, which is presented in incredible original condition, and which runs (!), is a major historical witness of the brand. Amateurs will know how significant this car is…"

Gautier, head of department
"I have a soft spot for the Maserati 3500 GT from the Anna Lisa collection. It's a very elegant car, with a Superleggera body by Touring, and I'm crazy about the 6-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts, one of the most balanced 6-cylinder engines. Finally, the condition of the car, which presents itself with a superb patina, compared to its very reasonable estimate, make this car an exceptional opportunity. Let's also not forget that this is an authentic GT and a true 2+2... Notice to passionate fathers!"

Advice

1986 BMW M5 Production Factory Car, a market for the future

The BMW M5 in our next sale is an exceptional factory car, entered by BMW in the 1986 French Touring Car Championship. Its 6-cylinder 3,5 l engine derived from the M1 has been revised and prepared by Pipo Moteurs, and now develops 470 hp, while chassis and running gear have been optimized by Oreca. Olivier Grouillard, future F1 pilot, will be entrusted with the wheel of the demonic BMW for the thirteen-race season. The car will be sold in 1987, on invoice, by BMW France, to a private individual... who entrusts it to us today for sale. It is rare to find a race car in its original condition, never touched, and in its strict original configuration, paint and stickers included! When Production and Superproduction will have a dedicated championship, this car will surely be at the front of the pack, and its price will be multiplied by two or three. An opportunity not to be missed, while there is still time...

Today, these old glories do not yet have a dedicated historic championship, but it is only a matter of time, and it would not be surprising if a promoter re-launched the formula soon... Which would, as we recently saw with the Gr. Cs, explode the Production and Superproduction market.

At the end of the 1970s, sporting authorities launched the French Touring Car Championship, which was initially run under Gr. 2 regulations, before giving place to Gr. A. The regulations, which required the cars entered to be sedans directly derived from a production model produced to at least 2,500 units, led to some incredible races, with top drivers and celebrities driving the same cars as could be seen on the streets ! With no big aerodynamic appendages, limited power, and smooth performance, everything was decided by braking, in crowded packs, and it was not uncommon for doors and bumpers to rub against each other, in a spectacle rarely equaled since. In 1987 and 1988, Gr. A will give way to the old Gr. B, with the arrival of real mechanical monsters, while in 1989, the rules for Superproduction will be based on the rules of the English championship TOCA. In 2001, some of the magic is gone, as the racing cars are now only silhouettes, far from production cars.
