For the inaugural auction of its "Sports" department, Aguttes achieved a sale rate of over 82% on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Featuring 212 lots, this public auction celebrating 10 sports—football, basketball, boxing, handball, tennis, rugby, hockey, skiing, cycling, and athletics—realized nearly €400,000*, with buyers from 17 different countries. A total of 400 online participants, about 30 attendees in the room, and phone bidders contributed to this first "Sports" auction.

On this occasion, Aguttes presented a unique collection (Lots 1–162) assembled over more than 20 years by a passionate Swiss entrepreneur and business leader. This remarkable collection spanned memorabilia from ten different sports, weaving together the grand narrative of sports history.

Lot 62 - Boxing - WBA World Champion Belt Holyfield – Tyson
Exceptional WBA World Boxing Champion belt won by Evander Holyfield in a match against Mike Tyson on November 9, 1996 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Evander Holyfield being declared the winner in the 11th round of the bout. At the end of each world championship, two belts are given to the winner and his clan, with one of the two belts, donated by the Duva clan (promoter) for the foundation, and signed by Evander Holyfield. The two boxers are each elected boxer of the year and their clash is voted fight of the year. Ranked among the 25 greatest fights of all time by Boxing News, a British weekly and the oldest still in publication. In addition to Don King's signature on the front page of the program, the match ticket, a newspaper photograph of the newspaper with the framed belt, as well as a dedication by Evander Holyfield.

Legendary jersey of England's No. 6
Worn by Bobby Moore during the World Cup quarter-final match against West Germany on June 14, 1970 (2-3) in Mexico. Bobby Moore earned 108 caps and scored 2 goals for the England national team, which he captained throughout his career.

Furthermore, this auction placed a strong emphasis on football: €29,900 for Bobby Moore's jersey (Lot 113), €18,200 for Luis Fernandez's jersey (Lot 114), and €12,825 for Messi's jersey (Lot 160).

Lot 114 – Football – Luis Fernandez Jersey
No. 9 jersey of the French national team, worn and signed by Luis Fernandez during the quarter-final match of the 1986 World Cup in Mexico against Brazil (1-1, 4-3 on penalties) on June 21, 1986. Luis Fernandez scored the decisive penalty that qualified France for the semi-finals. Fernandez earned 60 caps and scored 6 goals for the French national team. From a private collection.

Another highly sought-after piece was Roger Federer’s tennis racket (Lot 24), which sold for €22,712. Federer used this racket during the 2005 Wimbledon final, where he triumphed over Andy Roddick.
Strong interest was also shown for Arthur Ashe’s tennis racket (Lot 29), which fetched €18,200. Likely used by Ashe during the 1979 season, this racket reflects the enduring admiration for a player who won three Grand Slam singles titles and two in doubles.

Lot 24 - Tennis - Roger Federer's Racket
Roger Federer's Wilson tennis racket used in the Wimbledon final won against Andy Roddick in 2005 (6/2 - 7/6 - 6/4). The racket is signed by the player. It was his third consecutive victory at the London tournament.

The basketball section also sparked numerous bidding battles: Michael Jordan's No. 23 jersey (Lot 6) sold for €21,088, doubling its high estimate.

Lot 6 - Basketball - Michael Jordan’s Jersey
Jersey No. 23 Signed. Extremely rare, this is probably the jersey used for the Nike shoe advertisement for the Kilroy campaign. Kilroy campaign. No special Michael Jordan jersey exists. Jordan for the 1993-94 season, during which he did not play as he announced his retirement a few months earlier. In 1993-1994, as part of the NBA's commemorative limited edition commemorative collection, Champion published its first series of Pro-Cuts. They were limited to a handful of players and limited in quantity per player. This is one of them with the ‘NBA Commemorative Collection’ patch removed.

Lot 10 – Dream Team USA 92 – Signed Basketball
Spalding basketball signed by all players of the 1992 USA Dream Team at the Barcelona Olympics. Signatures include Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, Larry Bird, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, Clyde Drexler, and Christian Laettner. The Dream Team, the nickname for the U.S. national basketball team, brought together the best players from the North American professional league for the first time. They won the gold medal, dominating every game with an average margin of 44 points. The Dream Team is widely regarded as the greatest basketball team of all time.
