Provenance: Pierre Bergé: From One Home to Another, Sotheby’s Paris, 30 October 2018.

The Pierre Bergé: From One Home to Another sale, organised by Sotheby’s in 2018, brought together 975 lots from Pierre Bergé’s various residences: his Parisian apartment on Rue Bonaparte, his dacha in Normandy, the Mas Théo in Provence and the Villa Mabrouka in Tangier.

Regarded as the final major dispersal of his personal possessions, this sale brought to a close the cycle of famous dispersals of the collection he had built up with Yves Saint Laurent.

The catalogue illustrated the richness and diversity of his tastes, featuring a wide variety of items: furniture, works of art, decorative arts, old master paintings, Orientalist works, books and library items, as well as this rare Patek Philippe watch.

This sale was an exceptional success.
