- Introduced in 1972 and designed by Robert Opron, the SM remains a masterpiece of aerodynamics and innovation. This particular example, lovingly preserved for 47 years, was maintained and restored by its first owner until 2024.
- It stands out with its Brun Scarabée (AC427) exterior, paired with a light gold rhovyline interior featuring “cartouchière” seats. The overall presentation is excellent, with well-aligned body panels, chrome in very good condition, and all window markings correctly matched.
- Considering the general condition of its chassis, whose underbody remains entirely original and shows no visible corrosion, everything suggests that the car has been used with great care. Recent work has been carried out, notably the replacement of the exhaust system and the change of tires.
- During our test drive, the 2.7-liter Maserati V6 producing 170 hp, fed by three Weber carburetors, was in perfect health. The 5-speed manual gearbox is precise, the brakes highly effective, and the handling remarkable. All dashboard instruments are fully functional.

- Présentée en 1972 et dessinée par Robert Opron, la SM demeure un chef-d’œuvre d’aérodynamisme et d’innovation. Cet exemplaire, conservé amoureusement pendant 47 ans, a été entretenue et restaurée par son premier propriétaire jusqu’en 2024.
- Il se distingue par sa teinte Brun Scarabée (AC427), associée à un intérieur en Rhovyline or clair à sièges dit “cartouchière”. L’ensemble est en très bel état de présentation, les éléments de carrosserie sont bien alignés, les chromes en bel état et l’ensemble des marquages aux fenêtres concordants.
- Compte tenu de l’état général de son châssis, dont les soubassements sont strictement d’origine et sans corrosion apparente, tout semble indiquer que la voiture a été utilisée avec soin. Des travaux furent effectués récemment, notamment le remplacement de la ligne d’échappement et le changement des pneumatiques.
- Lors de notre essai, le V6 Maserati 2,7 l de 170 ch, alimenté par trois carburateurs Weber, respirait la santé. La boite manuelle à 5 rapports est précise, les freins très performants et la tenue de route remarquable. L’ensemble des éléments au tableau de bord sont parfaitement fonctionnels.
