‘Rare example sold new in France’
- The Lamborghini Espada, produced from 1968 to 1978, is a 4-seater coupé with a V12 engine developing up to 350 hp. This iconic model stands out for its distinctive Gandini design. With bodywork by Bertone, it symbolises the golden age of Italian GT cars. Only 1,217 examples were produced across all versions.
- Our Espada was first registered in the Alpes-Maritimes on 4 June 1970, with the number 9999 TB 06. It changed hands several times before being purchased by an architect from the Côte d'Azur in 1978. He kept it until 2011, when its current owner purchased it, changing its registration and registering it in the Vaucluse department.
- In 2012, the car was involved in an accident through no fault of its own when a lorry crashed into the wall of the garage where it was stored, causing the front left side to collapse. The insurance company covered the cost of the repairs, which amounted to around €37,000, replacing the damaged parts and completely repainting the bodywork. The interior had been partially restored in the past.
- Between 2021 and 2023, more than €5,000 was spent on mechanical maintenance. This included removing and cleaning the carburettors, adjusting the ignition distributor and changing the engine oil.
- During our inspection, we identified a problem with the engine's power supply. The car has since been restarted by a professional using a booster. The positive cable connecting the battery to the engine is definitely broken. As this car has been used sparingly since its purchase, a comprehensive check-up will be required before it can be driven again.

- La Lamborghini Espada, produite de 1968 à 1978, est un coupé 4-places doté d’un moteur V12 développant jusqu’à 350 ch. Ce modèle emblématique se distingue par son design caractéristique signé Gandini. Carrossé par Bertone, il symbolise l’âge d’or des GT italiennes. Seulement 1 217 exemplaires seront produits toutes versions confondues.
- Notre Espada a été immatriculée pour la première fois dans les Alpes-Maritime le 4 juin 1970, avec le numéro 9999 TB 06. Elle changera de main avant qu’un architecte de la Côte d’Azur ne l’achète en 1978. Il la conservera jusqu’en 2011, date à laquelle sont actuel propriétaire s’en porte acquéreur, ainsi elle changera d’immatriculation et sera enregistrée dans le Vaucluse.
- En 2012, la voiture sera accidentée malgré elle, un camion heurte le mur du garage où elle est stockée et celui-ci s’écroule sur l’avant gauche. L’assurance pendra en charge les travaux avoisinant les 37 000 €, ainsi les pièces endommagées seront remplacées et la carrosserie sera entièrement repeinte. Son habitacle quant à lui a été en partie restauré par le passé.
- Entre 2021 et 2023 plus de 5 000 € ont été dépensés pour son entretien mécanique. Cela comprend notamment la dépose et le nettoyage des carburateurs, le réglage du distributeur d’allumage ou encore une vidange moteur.
- Lors de notre expertise nous avons constaté un problème d’alimentation électrique du moteur. La voiture a depuis été remise en route par un professionnel grâce à un booster. Le câble positif reliant la batterie au moteur est certainement coupé. Cette auto ayant été utilisée avec parcimonie depuis son achat, un check-up global sera à prévoir avant de reprendre la route.
