8vo. Contemporary red morocco with a nameplate; gilt coats of arms embossed in the centre of the covers; ribbed spine decorated with gilt panels; gilt title; gilt edges; blue half-leather endpapers (spine slightly tarnished; corners and edges slightly rubbed; a few foxing spots).
A fine copy with a Dubuisson-style gilt plate featuring double gilt fillet decoration, compartments, shells and rocaille-style ironwork in the spandrels. A fine coat of arms, bearing a St Andrew’s cross and four arrowheads, is stamped on the centre of the covers. Opposite the title, an engraved label of the stationer selling the ‘A la Teste noire’ almanacs, rue de la Verrerie, Paris 1756, Monsieur Larcher, stationer to the King’s Estates… Bibliotheca St Cricq stamp on the title page.
