Contemporary red morocco with a nameplate; gilded coats of arms embossed in the centre of the covers; ribbed spine decorated with gilded panels; gilded title; gilded edges (some scuffing with tarnished gold at the corners and upper edge of the cover; spine slightly tarnished). A fine binding, likely by Derôme.
Featuring the fine coat of arms of Antoine de Sartine (1729–1801), a renowned politician who later served as Lieutenant-General of Police and Minister of the Navy under Louis XVI.
