Brown morocco, smooth spine, author and title in gold, date stamped at the tail, endpapers edged with morocco decorated with a cold-stamped fillet, linings and endpapers in beige moiré satin, second endpaper in original wallpaper, edges gilt on endpapers, cover and spine preserved [Huser] (jaws and tail cap very slightly rubbed).
A beautifully bound first edition. One of 60 copies printed on Dutch paper in a new edition in-16 (58 x 80 mm), this copy being number 8. A unique copy enhanced with six charming original watercolours, signed “Jean-Paul Delhumeau”, depicting the book’s main characters in costume.
