Contemporary brick-red morocco, plain, unmarked spine highlighted with fillets and a lyre-shaped stamp, covers richly decorated with garlands, fillets and gilt scrolls, gilt stars, floral stamps, mosaic pieces and lozenges, gilt edges (small brown stain in the lower left corner on most leaves. Binding slightly rubbed, a small tear in the upper cover, leather slightly shrunken, a few stains, a small snag at the foot of the spine).
Latin religious calendar of feasts and services for the leap year 1812.
Once owned by the Franciscan François André Dejean, Bishop of Asti (Italy), as indicated by his initials ‘FAD’ stamped in gold on a green marbled leather panel in the centre of the covers.
A red wax seal bearing the episcopal coat of arms (worn) on the first endpaper, where the episcopal coat of arms of AFD Asti from 1809 to 1814 can indeed be distinguished.

Includes a printed letter by Dejean on the frontispiece. The bishop addressing all the parish priests of the Diocese of Asti: regarding a correction to the title printed on this work without his authorisation.
